- Reimplemented all the interaction sounds from pre-rework
- New lightweight extensible interaction system with built-in synced cooldowns working behind the scenes will make implementing varied interactions easier in the future
Current Number of Plushables: 46
⚠️ IMPORTANT
- This version is a codebase rewrite. This means that saves from previous versions are NOT COMPATIBLE. PLEASE BACK UP your world before updating to this version! Your plushies, builders, codexes and baskets will dissapear from the world. This is likely the case if you're updating from Plushables Lite too!
🌞 New
- Updated to 1.21.1
- First multiloader release (available for both Fabric & NeoForge from now on)
- 2 new plushies (Snowie & Ribbit (yes, that ribbit!))
⚙️ What is and isn't in this release?
As the mod has been rewritten from the ground up there are old features that are yet to be implemented, and features I felt were best changed/removed.
So, here is what's currently available:
- All 44 plushies from previous versions
- 2 new plushies
- The Heart of Gold item
- Player pose while holding plushies
What isn't available yet (but will be in the future):
- Plushie interactions (sound effects, particles etc.)
- I want to rework this system to be more interactive and rewarding, perhaps adding benign utility to certain plushies. Hence interactions aren't in this release.
- Plushie information system
- I want to have my own system of displaying info about plushies rather than relying on a third party book system (previous releases have used Patchouli and Lavender).
- Plushie cosmetic wear
- Caps will make a comeback as well as other cosmetic plushie-related items.
- Basket
- The basket might make a return one day in some form, but it has issues around rendering performance that will take a lot of work to tackle properly.
What isn't coming back:
- Plushable Builder
- Shapeless recipes for plushies was a good change made in the Plushables Lite release, and I'm going to continue with it. Maintining the code for the builder was too costly and would prevent timely updates in the future
- Plushable Codex
- This is being replaced by a new system sometime soon. I want to keep plushables dependency free in the future.
- Plushable Animations
- Until Mojang allows block animations in Java this won't exist unfortunately. The previous system used GeckoLib. GeckoLib is an amazing library but I want to keep Plushables dependency free.
- Powered Heart of Gold
- This item always felt a bit out of place. It was previously used in recipes for plushies that had animations or other interactivity, but my plan going forwards is to introduce functionality to many different plushies, so having just one core crafting item seems more sensible and thematically appropriate)
🔧 Fixes
- Probably fixed quite a few bugs, this is the cleanest Plushables release to-date.
Info about Plushables Lite
- Plushables Lite is being discontinued in favour of this being the only mod going forward. Plushables Lite let me see what the important parts of the mod are and gave me a framework to create an updateable codebase going forward, so it was very useful (but now its time is up 😴)
