Changelog

IMPORTANT: If you're updating from 1.0.X, make sure to download the 1.1.0 version of the resource pack!

Added a function to update from version 1.0.X to 1.1.0. This function can be run by typing /function roguecraft:update/110/main as an operator

Added the new "Fireball" Ability

  • This ability simply shoots a powerful fireball in the direction you're looking in. Higher levels increase power and decrease mana cost

Added "Liquid Walker" as a replacement for Frost Walker and Lava Walker

  • This ability allows you to walk on both water and lava. On top of that, it's a lot cheaper in the shop and costs less mana than Frost and Lava Walker
  • Frost Walker and Lava Walker have been removed in favor of this ability (for obvious reasons)

The Healer Class has been overhauled

  • The Revitalize Ability has been changed. It now costs 4 hearts to use, but can be used to revive a player. That player will revive at the healer casting the ability
  • Healers no longer get an ability item in singleplayer as Revitalize is only useful in multiplayer. In singleplayer, healers will instead gain the 4 potions they got as a passive ability previously
  • Healers now get an additional level of regeneration as a passive ability. This affects the healer itself, but also all players in a 10 block radius

The Glass Cannon Class has been overhauled

  • Final Adrenaline has been renamed to Adrenaline. It now costs 3 hearts to use and will give one extra level of strength for the rest of the run
  • Glass Cannons now get one level of strength per armor level. Previously, Glass Cannons only got strength 4 for armor level 6

Added the "Lodestone Compass". This item will point you to the next point of interest, such as nether fortresses or the stronghold

Difficulty Level Changes

  • Beds no longer work after difficulty level 3
  • Mobs are now effected randomly by the difficulty level. This means that when the difficulty level is 5 and a zombie spawns, it can spawn in either no armor (difficulty level 1), or any tier up to diamond armor (difficulty level 5)
  • Spiders will now gain effects based on the difficulty level

Furnace Changes

  • Furnaces now smelt items twice as fast
  • Blast furnaces now smelt items four times as fast (eight times as fast as a regular vanilla furnace)
  • The blast furnace recipe has been changed to require deepslate instead of smooth stone

Technical Overhauls

  • Runs are now handled differently. A run is either active or not active. It activates when a run starts and deactivates when a run ends. This means that if a player leaves while a run is active and rejoins when it's not active, they will return to the hub. If a player leaves while in the hub and rejoins while a run is active, they will join the run instantly
  • The way the Region is selected changed. Instead of starting near the corner of the world, the play area will now spiral out from spawn, starting at -100000 0. This will have little to no effect on the gameplay, but makes the data pack a bit more efficient and makes coordinates more readable

Balance Changes

  • Respiration, armor toughness, and knockback resistance have been removed
  • The sword now upgrades alongside the tools, meaning that the sword upgrade shop has also been removed
  • You now get 16 arrows alongside the bow upgrade, meaning that the original upgrade shop has also been removed
  • Axes are now effected by sharpness and looting
  • Mages now start with permanent weakness
  • Mage mana regeneration boost: 3 → 5
  • Tank health boos: 10 → 6
  • Max health limit: 40 → 20
  • Dolphin's Grace cost: 15 → 7
  • Fire Resistance cost: 12 → 20
  • Haste cost: 3 → 4
  • Attack Damage limit: 20 → 10
  • Attack Damage cost: 4 → 3
  • Regeneration cost: 15 → 35
  • Resistance cost: 8 → 12
  • Thorns cost: 5 → 4
  • Jump Boost cost: 4 → 3
  • Bucket cost: 5 → 4
  • Flint and Steel cost: 5 → 3
  • Protection limit: 5 → 4
  • Protection cost: 7 → 6
  • Swift Sneak cost: 3 → 2
  • Sweeping Edge cost: 4 → 2
  • Punch cost: 3 → 2
  • Explosion 3 Mana Cost: 70 → 65
  • Heal 1 Mana Cost: 50 → 40
  • Heal 2 Mana Cost: 40 → 35
  • Dirt Walker 1 Mana Cost: 70 → 90
  • Dirt Walker 2 Mana Cost: 65 → 85
  • Dirt Walker 3 Mana Cost: 60 → 80

Resource Pack Changes

  • Most text now references translation keys in the language files. This means that a vast majority of the data pack can now be translated into different languages. As of now, the only language is english, which may change in the future
  • Added text for enchantment level 0
  • The lightning volume has been decreased

Other Changes

  • The third skillpoint recipe now grants 4 skillpoints
  • Players now have the glowing effect in multiplayer
  • Added a function to toggle the glow effect in multiplayer. This function can be run by typing /function roguecraft:settings/toggle_glow_effect as an operator
  • Added a function to toggle the skillpoint loss after starting a new run. This function can be run by typing /function roguecraft:settings/toggle_skill_point_loss as an operator
  • Added a trigger to toggle ability feedback in chat (e.g. "You cast Explosion"). This trigger can be run by typing /trigger toggle_ability_feedback
  • Removed command feedback (e.g. "Your game mode has been updated to Spectator Mode")
  • Added a particle effect for equipping an ability
  • Changed some advancements to fit the new changes
  • Changed the hub to fit the new changes

Bug Fixes

  • The "second" function would sometimes not be re-scheduled, causing issues such as the mana and difficulty level not increasing
  • The player would teleports to 0, 0, 0 upon re-entering a world
  • The blocks of the hub would not generate
  • Dirt Walker would work in spectator mode
  • Some shops in the hub would show a "-1" level for effects instead of "0"
  • Part of the end island would not be cleared upon entering the end
  • Block above y-level 117 and 0 would not be cleared upon entering the end
  • The phase mobs of the ender dragon fight can no longer spawn on dirt walker paths in the air
  • Only the center template of the end arena would generate, leaving the rest of the end island untouched (including an end gateway)
  • The dragon fight can no longer be skipped by unloading the dragon
  • The end fight could loop
  • When dying to the dragon, there would sometimes be two dragons in the end
